Chalk the Lot - AFTERNOON TIME SLOT

Chalk Art Contest Rules & Guidelines:

Contest will take place in the Kennedy Mall Parking Lot, by the front main entrance (by Mining Co.)

Artwork will be done right on in the landing zone where the US. Golden Knights will be landing there that evening!

CATEGORY & PRIZES

  • ADULT SOLO ARTIST: 18+
  • JUNIOR SOLO ARTIST: 13-18
  • YOUTH SOLO ARTIST: 8-12
  • YOUTH SOLO ARTIST: Under 8
  • FAMILY/TEAM/GROUP: Must have 1 lead artist 18 years of age.

AWARDS:

FIRST 20 participants to sign-up to this event, will recieve a $5 Kennedy Mall Gift Card at Check-in!

BEST OF THE BEST in each category. Voted on by the Artist Staff at Captured on Canvas.

TIMELINE:

CHECK-IN           1:00pm - 1:30pm

CHALK TIME!      1:30pm - 4:30pm

ANNOUNCE THE WINNERS & AWARD PRIZES!     5:30pm

(to offer more availabilty, we have 2 seperate times availalbe to sign-up for. Each participant/group can only sign up for one time slot. The other time slot avaialble will be 1:30-4:30pm. So please, make sure you sign-up for the time slot you wish to participate in. We may not be able to accept any last minutes swaps for time slots. Artwork done in each time slot will be collaborated for judging for the Best Of The Best Award in each category.)

RULES:

  • Subject: This year we do not have a theme for artwork. We are letting you be creative and can chalk anything that displays your best skills!
  • Artwork must be original. Artwork must be appropriate for all viewers and non-political and non-controversial.
  • Can ONLY use WASHABLE CHALK
  • Each Artist or Group may get up to a max size of one whole parking spot, depending on attendece. Minimum size requirements are 4 ft x 4ft.
  • Design MUST fit within the lines. (spots are angled parking if this affects your design. Size will be confirmed 5-7 days prior to the evnet)
  • Judging: will be based on creativity, skills, color, and effort.
  • Organizer has the rights to disqualify or remove an artist or their artwork if it does not follow our guidelines.

PROVIDED:

  • Chalk will be provided, but you are welcome to use your own chalks if desired. (must be washable)
  • Each participant will get a Captured On Canvas Tote Bag with bottle of water
  • Tents around for rest area.
  • Music to get into the grove!
  • Large Brushes for chalking techniques
  • Paper Towels
  • Water for chalking techniques
  • Caputred branded Pony Tail Ball Caps availble for purchase at Check-in - ONLY $20!

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Your Design
  • Your Creativity
  • OPTIONAL: Your own Chalk (must be washable)
  • Water (For Drinking) 
  • Sunscreen
  • Knee pads / Blanket / Chair (concrete may be hot)
  • Hat / addional sun protection

*NO COUPONS can be applied to this event. PRE-PAYMENT IS REQUIRED. NO REFUNDS if you choose to cancel or if bad weather. If bad weather occurs and we have to cancel the event, we will transfer your ticket to in-store credit.

Cancellation Policy

  • If you cancel 24 hours or more prior to the event, credit can be transferred to another event or put on hold for up to 3 months. If not used within the 3 months, credit will be lost.

  • Loss of payment will occur if no notification of cancellation occurs or if notification occurs with-in 24 hours prior to the event.

  • If an event has low attendance it may get CANCELLED. A notification will be sent out and option to transfer the credit to another event within 60 days will be offered.

Beverage Policy

We are a BYOB (Bring Your Own Beverage) Studio. You may bring your own Beer or Wine if 21 years of age or older and must show I.D. No liquor allowed! Alchollic beverages can only be consumed within our store. Any open container with-in any other area in the mall is not allowed and can be subject to public intoxication.
